El Cerrito / Kensington CERT areas conduct monthly radio tests to test equipment and practice our skills. Here is the most recent schedule.

First Wednesday of the Month (same day as the Community Warning System sirens are tested).

• El Cerrito Area 4 6:45pm, FRS/GMRS Channel 2

• Kensington Area 6: 6:30pm, FRS/ GMRS Channel 6

• El Cerrito Area 9 (near Tassajara Park): 7pm, FRS/GMRS Channel 15

At the designated time, turn your radio on and tune to the appropriate channel. Your area coordinator or communications coordinator will start the test by announcing themselves and asking for people to "check in". Listen, wait for a break, and then push the button on your radio and announce yourself with your name and location. For example:

"This is Rob on Leviston Avenue checking in."
